Beth's recipes for the economy-minded housewife
I have
included several recipe attachments for the economy minded housewife. They can
be formatted to fit recipe cards if people are interested in doing that.
FIRST WEEK
These were given out by J.B. Hunt (the ketchup people) in Canada when we used to
live there back in 1962 and supposedly were guaranteed to feed a *hungry* family
of 4 for $20.00 per week. That was Canadian $ not US. We never could eat the
amount the recipes made in one meal and sometimes not in two, so our cost was
actually much less per week. Though I have looked for updates since then, they
do not appear to have any more. I even wrote to the company and asked for help,
but they suggested I try USDA or WIC. LOL
Today the Cost of Living Calculator: http://www.aier.org/colcalc.html
suggests
that $20.00 US money is worth about $158.44. I am sure lots of families in the
US would like to spend less per week than they presently spend. Maybe this will
help.

Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous
and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he
cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels (Mark 8:38).
