Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside,
redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt,
that you may know how you ought to answer each one. (Colossians 4:5-6)
The last two days we have considered our walk
towards those who are on the outside. But what happens when we actually
“bump” into a person going the wrong direction. How should we conduct
ourselves? What should we say?
Let’s take a look at our feet for the
answer!
How beautiful are the feet of those who preach
the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things! (Romans 10:15)
We must tell them of the life, death, burial,
and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins. We must
introduce them to the Prince of Peace. It is only when they understand God’s
love for them that they will be motivated to repent and turn from their sinful
ways. So many times we begin at the end (trying to change the sin) instead of
the beginning!
Colossians 4:6
says to let your speech always be with grace.
Strong’s Concordance describes this grace as the divine influence upon the
heart, and its reflection in the life! If God’s loving grace has truly
changed our lives, it will show in the way we conduct ourselves and the way we
approach and speak with these precious lost souls.
