And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. (Matt.25:33)
There are those out there who think they are sheep when they are really goats. They are sincere in what they believe but it is not enough. We must obey God.
"Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'
And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' (Matthew 7:21-23)
Are you sure you are a sheep?
Jesus speaks a parable about the Wheat and the Tares. The Wheat in the parable represent God’s children and the Tares are the people in the world, those who never bother to obey God. In this story the wheat and the tares grow together just as Christians and people of the world live together here on earth.
But a day is coming when He will judge all and the Christians (wheat) will be gathered (into the barn) to God in Heaven and the worldly people (tares) shall be gathered (bound and burned) and cast into the furnace of fire where there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. (See Matthew 13:24-30; 37-43)
The day is coming...
When?
Only God knows...
But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. (Matthew 24:36)
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? (2 Peter 3:10-12)
For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness and the peoples with His truth. (Ps.96:13)
