MY STORY:

Glen and I finished our Home Study on January 21, 1992. We were told that it could be up to two years before a child was placed in our home. However, with great anticipation I began working on the nursery. I set up the baby bed and bought a dresser. I began making matching curtains, bumper pads, bed ruffle, and diaper bag. I purchased all the necessary items for a baby including baby shampoo, towels, powder, diapers, and other little baby needs. I cleaned the room thoroughly to make sure no germs would contaminate my new child. I made sure that I had prepared everything necessary to bring home a little bundle of joy. My time spent in this room was joyful and happy. I truly worked with a song in my heart.

GOD’S STORY

Over and over again in the New Testament we read that Jesus Christ has gone to heaven to prepare for us a place. He is anxiously awaiting the day that we will join Him in the heavenly realms. However, we must also be aware that a place of fiery torment has been prepared for those who follow the path of Satan. We are given the freedom to choose where we will live for eternity.

1. Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me, In My Father’s __________ are many ___________; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to __________ a place for __________, And if I go and __________ a place for __________, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you __________. John 14:1-4

2.Read Matthew 25:31-46.

a. How is the Son of Man coming?

b. Who is the Son of Man?

c. What will the Son of Man be separating?

d. Who are the sheep and what had they accomplished?

e. What is their reward?

f. When was this kingdom prepared?

g. Who are the goats and what had they failed to do?

h. What is their punishment?

i. Who was this everlasting fire prepared for?

3. Considering what we have just learned in question #2, let’s look at Mark

10:35-45. In this case James and John are making a “political ploy” to

become great among the apostles.

a. What did James and John ask of Jesus?

b. What was Jesus’ response? To whom would it be given?

c. Using your knowledge of Matthew 25:31-46 who would be receiving the right hand and the left hand?

d. Read verse 43-45. Who would be great? Compare this to the

actions (preparations) made in Matthew 25:31-46.

4. What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath __________ for __________, and that He might make know the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had __________ beforehand for __________, even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles. Romans 9:23

As children of God (the sheep) we will inherit the kingdom of Heaven. Spend some time today just thinking about that eternal reward!!

5. But as it is written: __________ has not seen, nor __________ heard, Nor have entered into the __________ (mind) of man the things which God has __________ for those who __________ Him. I Corinthians 2:9

** This is one of my all time favorite verses!!**

6. Read Revelations 21. Tell in your own words what these verses mean to you.

LESSON IN ACTION!

Return to Matthew 25. Read all the ways that His people did good unto Him. Choose an act of benevolence to bestow upon someone this week. Write and tell us what you did and how it felt to serve others.
