A World of Sin

By Billie Sue Duty

By going to the scriptures one of the first things we learn in Genesis is that Sin came into the world and destroyed Adam and Eve’s wonderful relationship with their (our) Creator. [Read Genesis 1-3.] They lived in a perfect world with a perfect relationship with their Maker.

How sad when Sin entered their lives through deception of the enemy "Satan". When we begin to read from Genesis 3 on, we see more and more sin taking place and it continues even today and will continue until the Lord returns.

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned-- (Romans 5:12)

I see the treacherous, and am disgusted, because they do not keep Your word. (Psalm 119:158)

Our Creator did not leave us without hope. He first mentioned His plan to redeem man in the same chapter that we read of sin entering the world.

"And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel." (Genesis 3:15)

Again in Romans 5 we read ...

Therefore, as through one man's offense

Judgment came to all men,

Resulting in

Condemnation,

Even so through one Man's righteous act

The free gift came to all men,

Resulting in

Justification of life...

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous. (Romans 5:18-19)
