A Very Dangerous Disease

By Billie Duty

There is a sickness running rampant in our land today. It is killing people and many who have it do not even know until it is too late. This disease is more dangerous than cancer, aides or any of the other leading diseases in our world today.

You may be wondering why people do not know they have it until it is to late. The reason is because many do not seek professional help for this disease since they do not find its symptoms alarming. The world needs to be educated concerning this terrible disease!

Our world loves to be entertained and they are emotionally moved by sad or sentimental stories. I remember a touching story that was passed around many times on the internet. I am guessing that all who forwarded it thought it was a story worth passing on.

This story was about a very devastating illness. It was killing everyone in the whole world! A doctor found a child who had a rare blood type containing properties that could cure the disease. By giving his blood this boy could save others! His parents were happy until they heard he must give all his blood. If he gave his blood to save others from this horrible disease it meant he must die for the cause.

The disease in the story that went around the internet is not real, but the disease I am warning you about is real! It is very scary too, because it does not only kills physically, but this disease also kills spiritually. I believe that those who have suffered from this dreadful disease and who never knew until it was too late, woke up in Hades wishing they could relive their lives or at least warn their loved ones. (Read Luke 16:19-31)

The name of this disease is SIN! Read a little more of this disease and how it is manifested. (1 Corinthians 6:8-10; Galatians 5:19-21; Revelation 21:8).

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23) There is hope! The greatest Physician that has ever lived (Matthew 9:11-13) has given us an instruction book that contains the cure (2 Timothy 3:16-17). He gave His Own Blood to save others from this disease (Acts 20:28; Romans 3:25; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14; Hebrews 13:12; 1 John 1:7; Revelation 1:5). For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. (
Romans 6:10)

And His father was willing to give the life of His only begotten Son to save all those who had this terrible disease.....a disease that people infected themselves with by choice.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” (John 3:14-21)
