A Thank You Makes A Brighter Day!
By Beverly Rainwater
"This
is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and
be glad in it." (Psalms 118:24)
"And
be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." (Ephesians 4:32)
Today, in my email I received an inspirational thought that made these 2 verses come to mind. It was something that made me stop and to reflect on how I might seem to others when I don't show my gratitude and my rejoicing in each and every day that the Lord sees fit to bless me with.
It
made me think of how many times I have neglected to tell
someone such a simple thing as, "Thank you". These
are two words that are so simple and they can brighten someone’s day so much!
Expressing gratitude to others is something positive that we should do
every day. It is something to help us have a brighter outlook along the daily
path.
We should be thankful to God for each and every day. We should be thankful to our fellow travelers for every thoughtful or kind word or deed said or done along life’s way. Why is it that we are not more appreciative? If we do value kind deeds done by others and are grateful, why is so hard to say "thank you" and to be happy?
Why
is it that we waste away so much of the time we could be counting our blessings
with worry, anger, discontent, unkindness, ungraciousness and unthankfulness?
Could it be a lack of faith in the Lord's divine Word and His divine promises to us? After all, is not it part of being a Christian to be kind to one another and to show our light?
Is not the dawning of each and every day a true blessing from God that we should rejoice and be happy in!
