For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? (2 Corinthians 2:15-16)
Thy testimonies that thou has commanded are righteous and very faithful. Thy word is very pure; therefore thy servant loveth it. (Psalms 119:137-138)
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. (Eph. 5:1-2)
How can
Christ be a sweet smelling savour (fragrance) to some and yet a stench to
others?
Christ is life to those who hear and obey him and thus a fragrance. To those who will not hear and obey God’s word, it will bring death and the stench of death.
What is God's word to me?
Let us love the word¦ be redeemed, purified, a peculiar people, zealous of good works. (Titus 2:14)
Let us be cleansed from the stench of death.
