Where Were You Born?

By Sandy Ditoro

Amongst our earthly possessions is a small metal box that is locked by a key.  It contains important papers.  Of these is a 67 year old piece of paper which says that my husband was born in Fitken Hospital, Neptune, NJ.

As we live on this earth, it is important that we have a birth certificate.  It is used from time for official business to prove who we are.  It is also important to have a heavenly birth certificate.  You won’t get into heaven without it!  Do you have one?

Were You Born In Zion?

When one is born in Zion, this is the most special day of a person’s life. When one is born in Zion it is recorded by the hand of God!

And of Zion it will be said, "This one and that one were born in her; And the Most High Himself shall establish her." The LORD will record, When He registers the people: "This one was born there." (Psalm 87:5-6)

We are born in Zion when we are baptized.

Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. (John 3:5)

Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. (Acts 2:41)

With His hand God writes our name is His Book when we are baptized.

…praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. (Acts 2:47)

When we are born of God and our names have been recorded we determine within our hearts to never sin again.

We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him(1 John 5:18)

Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, (I Pet.1:22-23)

When we are born in Zion our name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." …. there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. (Rev. 21:1-4,27)

When the Father looks at you on the Day of Judgment will He say:

“This one was born there”.
