1. How long after they left Egypt did it take the Israelites to get to the wilderness of Sinai?

Ans.:  Three months.

 

2. Did the Israelites actually see what God did to the Egyptians?

Ans.:  Yes.

 

3. How did God describe His deliverance of Israel from Egypt?

Ans.:  I bare you on eagles ‘ wings and brought you unto myself.

 

4. What promise did God make to Israel if they would obey His voice and keep His commandments?

Ans.:  They would be a peculiar treasure to Him above all people of the earth and would be to Him a Kingdom of priests and an holy nation.

 

5. Who, today, is that kingdom of priests and His Holy nation (1 Peter 2:5, 9)?

Ans.:  Christians.

 

6. What was the response of the people to the message of God?

Ans.:  All that the Lord hath spoken, that will we do.

 

7. How would God come unto Moses?

ans.: In a thick cloud.

 

8. Would the people be able to hear the Lord speak to Moses?

Ans.:  Yes (vs.9).

 

9. How were the people to prepare themselves for the descending of the Lord upon Mt. Sinai.?

Ans.:  They were to be sanctified and wash their clothes.

 

10. How were the people to know when they were to approach the mount?

Ans.:  When the trumpet sounded long.

 

11. What would happen to those who approached the mount and went past the boundaries?

Ans.:  They would be stoned or shot through.

 

12. What caused the people to tremble?

Ans.:  The third day, in the morning, there were thunders and lightnings, a thick cloud upon the mount and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud.

 

13. What was the appearance of the mount?

Ans.:  The mount was completely in smoke because the Lord descended upon it in fire; and the smoke ascended liket he smoke of a furnace and the whole mount quaked greatly.

 

14. Who did the Lord call to the top of the mount?

Ans.:   Moses.

 

15. Who also was to go up?

Ans.:  Aaron.

 

16. What would happen if others were to go up also?

Ans.:  The Lord would break out (destroy, overthrow) against them.
