*apron - The Hebrew word translated "apron" or "covering" is from chagowr (khag-ore'); or chagor (khag-ore'); and (feminine) chagowrah (khag-o-raw'); or chagorah (khag-o-raw'); from OT:2296; a belt (for the waist): -apron, armour, gird (-le).
Take note: What Adam made to cover them was "a belt for the waist or girdle."
From verse (21)
*coats - kethoneth (keth-o'-neth); or kuttoneth (koot-to'-neth); from an unused root meaning to cover [compare OT:3802]; a shirt: KJV - coat, garment, robe.
*skins - `owr (ore); from OT:5783; skin (as naked); by implication, hide, leather: KJV - hide, leather, skin.
*cover - labash (law-bash'); or labesh (law-bashe'); a primitive root; properly, wrap around, i.e. (by implication) to put on a garment or clothe (oneself, or another), literally or figuratively: KJV - (in) apparel, arm, array (self), clothe (self), come upon, put (on, upon), wear.
Take note: What God provided for them was a garment or robe for a covering made of skins.
