THE ROYAL DAUGHTER WEARS PROPER WEDDING CLOTHES

By Elizabeth Peak

"Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.  Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.’  So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.
“But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment.  So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless.  Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’  “For many are called, but few are chosen.”" (Matthew 22:8-14)

The above scripture is a parable about the judgment. The main point is that the person must be clothed properly to attend the wedding feast. It is of utmost importance for all people to be clothed properly before the judgment. Just as the wedding guest was thrown out of the wedding feast for not being dressed in wedding clothes, the person not clothed in Christ at the judgment will be told: "Depart from me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels." ( Matthew 25:41)

What then is proper wedding clothing? What is needed to be clothed in Christ? Below are the steps that one must take to be properly attired for the judgment.

First, one must hear the gospel. "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17) Jesus said: "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock; and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock." ( Matthew 7:24-25)

Second, one must believe the gospel. John wrote: "And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name." (John 20:30-31) "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6)

Third, one must repent of their sins. Luke records these words of Jesus "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3)  Paul told the Athenians in Acts 17:30-31: "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He (God) has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man (Jesus Christ) whom He has ordained. He (God) has given assurance of this to all by raising Him (Jesus Christ) from the dead."

Fourth, one must confess Christ as the Son of God. Jesus said: "Therefore whoever confesses  Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 10:32-33) Paul tells the Romans: "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10)

Fifth, one must be baptized for the remission of sins. Peter told the people on the Day of Pentecost "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38) Jesus told His disciples: "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."  (Mark 16:16)

and live faithfully "...Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life." (Revelation 2:10b)

The above steps also dress the Royal Daughter in wedding clothes.

Are you dressed properly for the wedding feast? If not, take the above steps today so you can be ready and dressed in wedding clothes when the Lord comes again.
