Noah's
Ark
Lesson 7
Leaving the Ark
Remember last week the birds let Noah
know that the waters had finally gone down. Let's see what
happens today. Our Bible reading is from Genesis 8:15-19:
Genesis 8:15-19
"And God spake unto Noah, saying, Go forth of the
ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives
with thee. Bring forth with thee every living thing that is
with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of
every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they
may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and
multiply upon the earth. And Noah went forth, and his sons,
and his wife, and his sons' wives with him: Every beast,
every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever
creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out
of the ark."

Just as God told them to come into the ark, now He is
telling them that it is finally time to leave the ark! Can
you imagine the whooping and hollering that went on? I can
just hear the "Yahoooooooo!" that might have been heard from
one of Noah's sons. I imagine everyone was very excited
(and maybe a little scared) to leave the ark. They had been
in the ark for over a year and that is a long time to be
stuck in an ark with lions and tigers and bears! The
animals were surely ready for the room to roam, too.
Help the animals return to their proper
homes:
1. squirrel
2. duck
3. frog
rivers, lakes
4. owl
5. deer
6. alligator
7. bear
forests, trees
8. spider
9. wolf
10. beaver

Fun project time!
God made special homes for every animal He made.
These homes are called habitats. Ask your mom or dad nicely
if you can have some more magazines to cut up. This time you
are looking for animals. Then ask for 4 sheets of paper to
separate the animals. Use one paper for desert/grasslands
animals, one for animals that live in forests, one for ocean
animals and one for arctic animals. Then glue the animals to
the correct paper and write what habitat you are showing on
that paper.
Think about this!
Noah and his family lived
on the ark for over a year with scary animals like lions and
tigers. How do you suppose they lived during that time?
Read this verse: Daniel 6:22 "My God
hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that
they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was
found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no
hurt."
Do you think that God might have done something like that to
the animals on the ark so they would not harm Noah and his
family?
Weekly challenge:
Noah and his family must have learned to
be very kind to each other on the ark, or the time spent
together would have not been fun at all. This week please
practice being extra nice to your family and friends. Not
just to remember your "please" and "thank you" but other
things, too. For example, let your mom know that you love her
dinners; give your dad a hug for playing with you; do your
chores without being asked and share a toy that you know your
friend loves. See how many of these 'acts of kindness' you
can do this week! Have a good attitude at the same time!

Memory verse for the week:
(Genesis
8:18) And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and
his sons' wives with him:
Next week's lesson we will
be learning about some changes that will happen to Noah and
his family.
