June's kitchen Quick Fellowship Dessert

(From the Kitchen of June Smith)

1 tall can crushed pineapple  

1 can pie filling (cherry is our favorite)  

1 box yellow cake mix

2 sticks melted butter 

1 cup pecans 

 

Layer in order in 9x 13 inch cake pan  the ingredients as listed .  After you add the  dry cake mix, pour melted butter over the mixture. Scatter the pecans on the top of the mixture.  Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes to an hour until the top is browned. (Taste great when topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.) 

 

*Apple, peach or your favorite pie filling may be used in place of the cherry pie filling.   

I have also used Chocolate cake mix and cherry pie filling to make a cherry chocolate dessert.    

When I use apple filling I add a teaspoon of cinnamon to the apple pie filling.
