WELCOME
By Wilma Hendrick
Have you ever heard a story about a poor indigent person who inherited a fortune from a long lost relative that he knew nothing about? He was so surprised. It made the headlines, and everyone rejoiced and wished they could be so lucky.
Let me tell you Sisters, we are that poor indigent person!! Spiritually, we are poor, naked and blind until we come to Christ. Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?" (Jas. 2:5) Do you realize what we have? Do you know what it means to be an "heir of God"?
"An heir is one who succeeds to an estate. The meaning here is that if we sustain the relation of sons to God, we shall be treated as such and admitted to share his favors. This expression means that we shall be partakers of that inheritance which God confers on his people. That inheritance is his favor here and eternal life hereafter. This is an honor infinitely higher than to be heir to the most princely earthly inheritance; or than to be the adopted son of the most magnificent earthly monarch." (Barnes' Notes)
We will sit with Christ on His throne with God. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. (Rev. 3:21) We will be royalty. If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. (II Tim. 2:12)
Please, dear gentle sisters, let us not sit around as if we are so persecuted and bemoan our lot in life. We are rich beyond what we can even imagine. We are daughters of a King and have all the privileges that go with it. We have every right to be happy and rejoicing. Unlike an earthly king who can be disposed at any time, our King and God are reigning and will reign forever and ever. We will be right there beside Him. Praise His Name!!
Now, get out there and live like it. Tell everyone you meet about this God and His Kingdom. Get your songbook out and sing about this as you do your household duties.
Some glad day, I'm goin 'to meet the King
Some glad day, I'm goin' to meet the King
Some glad day, I'm goin' to meet the King
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Amen !!!
