God hates
lying, as stated here from
Proverbs 6:16-19:
These six
things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an
abomination to Him: A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked
plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness
who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among
brethren.
“Lying lips are an
abomination to the LORD, But those who deal truthfully are His delight.”
(Proverbs 12:22) What is not truth is
a lie!
All of us who receive emails know about receiving forwards. Many do not
know how to see if the messages sent to them are true, and they just assume
that the person they know who forwarded it to them is sending what they know
to be true. There are places one can go online to and check to see if they
are true or a hoax, such as the Urban Legend web site.
A lot of forwards have to do with Jesus. Most of these are not in accord
with God’s truth. They are cute, loving and emotional stories; but they are
not truth! It seems that the world wants emotional stories that make them
feel good or sad. These exchanged the truth of God for the lie (Romans
1:25a)
As children of God, we are suppose to be truthful in all things and with all
people.
"For He said, “Surely they are My people, Children who
will not lie.” So He became their Savior." (Isaiah 63:8)
Do not lie to one another,
since you have put off the old man with his deeds, (Col. 3:9). Satan
is the father of those who lie, as stated here from
John 8:44:
You are of your father the devil, and the
desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the
beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no
truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own
resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
God’s Word is truth, “Sanctify them by Your
truth. Your word is truth.” (John 17:17) It
is this truth that sets His children apart from the world.
I will just mention one forward that I have received. In it you are told if
you love Jesus to send the message to others. If we turn to the Word of
God, we find that Christ, Himself, tells us: “If
you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15)
Concerning the articles sent to us relating to God’s Word, we need not click
to the urban legend site. We need to “Study
to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2Tim. 2:15
KJV)
Study before you hit forward.
"The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan,
with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous
deception among those who perish,
because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should
believe the lie, that they all may
be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in
unrighteousness." (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)
This is worth forwarding!
