What is the Gospel and how do we obey it?

It is in baptism that we are buried with Him, dying to our sins, and raised to a new walk in life. Our sins are washed away/forgiven (Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16).

9. "For ______ also ______ _____ ___ ____ , the just for the unjust, that ___ might _____ ___ ___ ____ , being put to _____ ___ ___ _____ but made _____ ___ ___ ______ , by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. We have a good conscience toward God because we have obeyed Him and he keeps His promises to those who obey. (2 Peter 3:9, 12-14)

11. For by one Spirit we were all _______ ____ ___ ____ --whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free--and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:13) It is in baptism that we are put into Christ’s body, the Church...

Unless one is in Christ, he will not be saved!

A New Name

Wait! Wait! What are we called if we are members of the body of Christ?

The religious world has many names for those who are suppose to be among the saved... Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Catholic, etc... None of these are found anywhere in the Word of God as names for those who are saved. We are simply Christians belonging to the one body, which is the Church. Not many, as the world says but One...

Are you in the One Body which is Christ’s body, the church? You can know by studying the Holy Word of God. The scriptures give us knowledge of God.

I beg and I plead with you, go to the scriptures and see where you stand! Are you in Christ? Have you been forgiven of your sins? If you have not followed the same path as the early Christians did then you are not among the saved.

We find the path of Salvation in this same WORD that will judge us when He comes...

How can one believe if he does not know what God says?

After we have heard God’s Word and we believe that Christ is the Son of God who died on the cross for our sins, and that God raised Him from the dead. We turn from our sinful living to living the way God teaches and commands. We confess to men that we believe that Christ is the Son of God who died for our sins, and we are buried in baptism with Christ for the forgiveness of our sins.

After obeying the above we are then added to the church by the Lord Himself!

Will you be found on the path of His Word?

At Calvary

By: Wm. R. Newell / D.B. Towner (Song Of The Church p. 662)

Years I spent in Vanity and pride, Caring not my Lord was crucified,

Knowing not it was for me he died On Calvary.

By God’s Word at last my sin I learned; Then I trembled at the law I’d spurned,

Till my guilty soul imploring turned To Calvary.

Now I’ve giv’n to Jesus ev’rything; Now I gladly own Him as my King;

Now my raptured soul can only sing Of Calvary.

O the love that drew salvation’s plan! O the grace that bro’t it down to man!

O the mighty gulf that God did span At Calvary.

Mercy there was great, and grace was free; Pardon there was multiplied to me;

There my burdened soul found liberty,

At Calvary.
