(Lesson 3)
As we begin in the very first chapter of the very first book in the Bible we find that, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)” The first two chapters in the book of Genesis tell us about all He created, the heavens, the earth, the universe, the land, the sky, the sun, moon, stars…, the trees, grass, herbs…, the animals, the oceans, and more, and then Man and woman.
We also learn, that Sin came into the world and put both Adam and Eve out of a wonderful relationship with their (our) Creator. [Read Genesis 1-3.] They lived in a perfect world with a perfect relationship with their Maker. How sad when Sin entered their lives through deception of the enemy "Satan" (1 Peter 5:8).
When we begin to read from Genesis 3 on, we see more and more sin taking place and it continues even today and will continue until the Lord returns.
1. Therefore, just as through one man ______ entered the world, and ______ through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because _____ ________ -- (Romans 5:12)

8. Who is the “one man” by whom “many would be made righteous“?
9. Who is the “one man” who brought “condemnation“?
Good Obedient People
We find that there were good "obedient" people in the world, these were those who followed and served the one true God, the Creator of all things. We find Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Isaiah, Job, David, Peter, Paul and others, including women.
10. Paul tells us: " ________ _____ , just as I also ________ ________ ." (1 Corinthians 11:1)

And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but ________ those who through faith and patience inherit the promises." (Hebrews 6:9-12)

(Hebrews 11:17-19)
How Can we be Like Them?
We can read and study about them and the way they obeyed God. We read about Noah building the Ark just as God commanded him (Gen. 6-9:17).
Abraham left his homeland God told him. We also, see that when he received from God, a son in his old age, he was willing to offer him as a sacrifice to God as God had commanded him. (begin in Gen. 12).
19. What wood did God tell Noah to use to build the ark?
20. THOUGHT QUESTION… What do you think would have happened if Noah had not followed the precise instructions God gave to build the Ark? (Try to give scriptures to back why you think this.)
It is Not Always Easy
By these examples we see that sometimes we are commanded by God to do things that we would really rather not do and everything that God asks of us is not easy. We may not always understand why God commands us to do certain things but we should learn not to question what God has said and just do what He says.
They were accounted faithful because they did what God told them to do.
21. These were _____ of the word and not ______ only... James 1:22!
We can continue all the way through to the New Testament and read of the promises that God made and kept, the commands He gave, who obeyed, and who did not. People died for not obeying the commands of God
22. Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and _______ _______ ____ before the LORD, which ___ ___ ___ _________ them. So fire went out from the LORD and ________ them, and ____ ____ before the LORD. (Lev. 10:1-2)
23. Who is the He referring to in the above verse?
God Expects and Deserves Obedience!
We are warned and we are told exactly what we are to do to receive the salvation that God offers to us, just as He told Noah how to build the Ark, He told Nadab and Abihu where to get the fire. Do we dare do as Nadab and Abihu did and think that we can decide for ourselves where, when, how, and what to do? Those who do will receive the same treatment they received.
