Salvation

(Lesson 1)

The only way one can be sure that he is saved is to go to the Holy Scriptures and see what God says about salvation and how it is obtained.

1. All ______ is given by inspiration of _____ , and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

All Scripture comes from God and is important for man to know and study.

Even Christ said in Matt. 4:4,

The Bible is the Standard of Authority

It is very confusing today when we want to learn the truth of God, or is it?

7. For God is not the _______ ___ _________ but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints. (1 Corinthians 14:33)

Everywhere we look we can see a different church, with a different name, and they teach a different way as to how one can obtain salvation. Some even say that we are all going to Heaven but we are taking different paths.

8. "Enter by the narrow gate; for _________ is the gate and ____________ is the way that leads to _______________ , and there are __________ who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which ________ ______ _________ , and there are _________ who find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)

9. By the above verse, How many are on the path leading to destruction?

How many to life?

When we go to the Word of God we find that God is not confusing! And we find that there is one narrow and difficult path and not many will find it!

10. Jesus Christ tells us, “"I am the ______ , the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father _______ ________ ______ .” (John 14:6)

We see here that the way is through Christ.

11. In the beginning was the __________ , and the ________ was with God, and the ________ was God. (John 1:1)

Christ is the Word given from God and now we have the Words of Christ which are written in the New Testament.

At one time God spoke to people but today He speaks to us through His written Word in the New Testament.

Remember John 1:1&14 tell us that Christ is the Word. So, Hebrews here tells us that God speaks to us today through Christ, His Son… and that would be through His written Word in the New Testament!

We can know the truth by going to His Holy Scriptures!
